Lola Ladybug has Book Review in Style!

Style Mag ReviewThe June issue of Chesapeake Style Magazine has a review of my book, Lonely Lola Ladybug! It was written by education specialist and author, Mary Ann Carr. Here are just a couple things she had to say.

“Lola’s story is a lesson about overcoming fear and taking risks in order to open doors to a whole new world.  She learns happiness comes not just from friendship but also from discovering who she truly is.”

“The book’s colorful mixed-media illustrations, coupling collage and water-color, are in themselves a work of art. Children of all ages will delight in the whimsical drawings of the insects Lola encounters on her journey.”

Book Tour – Part I Report

Show Me How! picWhile in NH, I had the added treat of meeting Author and Kid Lit Blogger of Picture Books Help Kids Soar, Vivian Kirkfield.  What a delight! Her book, “Show me How!” is a wonderful resource guide for parents and educators to promote children’s self- esteem through reading, crafting, and cooking.  The six chapters are organized by six different positive emotional messages conveyed in picture books and each page highlights one classic story book that is matched by a craft project and a cooking activity. I wish I had this book when I was raising my kids!

I’m happy to report that Part I of my book tour, Boston South Shore and Southern New Hampshire, was a success! Lonely Lola Ladybug was well received by all of the six independent book stores that I visited. The owners or buyers not only agreed to carry my book but three of them invited me back for a book signing event in the fall! With that kind of response, I wish I had had more time to visit more book stores…maybe next fall. Book Tour Part II to Chicago and Milwaukee starts a week from today and I cannot wait to see what happen there!
