Last week I couldn’t bring myself to blog about my life when so many innocent lives had been so brutally taken by the terrorists’ attacks in Paris. My heart goes out to the Parisians and to all of France which was once my adopted country. The French are a people of great sensitivity and also great strength. They are proud and protective of their culture and do not hesitate to defend it with force when necessary. I lived there during the years of the Gulf War and saw firsthand how the police and military do not fool around when there is a threat to their national security. They will not allow these murderous acts to create terror in the hearts and minds of a peace loving people…Liberté, égalité, fraternité will march on. In this upcoming American holiday of Thanksgiving, I will sit at a festive table surrounded by loved ones and think of France. I will give thanks to be alive, to be together, and for the freedom to choose faith over fear. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
