Williamsburg Book Festival

Williamsburg Book Festival 2015Despite the RAIN that caused the cancellation of the Arts Festival, the Williamsburg Book Festival carried on yesterday. That’s me and fellow illustrator Cathy Cottrell ready to greet the crowd. You can’t tell that we, along with thirty some other authors, had our finger crossed that people would come to cozy Bruton Parish’s Lewis Hall on this RAIN soaked Saturday. As it turned out, pretty steady waves of brave book buyers and browsers came and went all day! We talked to a bunch of nice people, gave out contact cards, candy, chances to win a fabulous gift basket, and managed to sell and sign 15 books! We thought this was pretty good, considering the author next to us sold only one book (poor thing) and most importantly we got our feet wet (no pun intended) participating in our very first book festival on the author/seller side of the table.

Next stop on my October Ride is Halifax, Massachusetts!

  1. Good for you guys! I remember doing these venues when we were in the real estate business. It takes a great deal of patients to do these greet and meet meetings. Good luck and I think you did very well especially with the poor weather, but then you have a good product to market.

    • Thanks Martha! It was a good experience. I do wonder what it would have been like if the weather had been better. Williamsburg is lovely. I would like to spend some more time there.
